Artificial intelligence can be defined as the ability of computer systems to perform tasks and activities that usually can only be accomplished using human intelligence. In the world of education, this technology is revolutionalizing schools and classrooms, making educators jobs a lot easier.

Even with the positive benefits of AI, many educators are wondering what effects this technology will have on the education field. Will it help close the achievement gaps or democratize education? Or will it render educators utterly useless, putting millions of teachers out of work, and destroy the noble profession?

Not to worry, teachers; the robots aren’t coming for your job, they are just here to make it a lot easier. Want to learn more about the effects of AI on education? Don’t worry. I have you covered. In the video below, an expert on AI discusses the effects of AI on education in laymen’s terms.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
