20 Classroom Winter Crafts That We Want to Try Right Now

1. Snowflake Window Clings: Use puffy paint to create beautiful snowflake designs on plastic wrap. Let them dry and then peel them off to stick on windows.

2. Paper Snowman Craft: Cut out snowman shapes from white paper and let the students decorate them with construction paper, buttons, and other craft supplies.

3. Cotton Ball Snow Paintings: Dip cotton balls in blue and white paint and use them to create snowy scenes on paper.

4. Mitten Garland: Cut out colorful mittens from construction paper and string them together to create a festive garland.

5. Ice Skate Ornaments: Decorate foam or cardboard ice skate shapes with glitter, sequins, and ribbon to hang on the Christmas tree.

6. Pinecone Owls: Paint pinecones brown and glue on googly eyes and feathers to create adorable owl ornaments.

7. Snowy Tree Paintings: Use q-tips dipped in white paint to create a winter wonderland scene with snow-covered trees.

8. Hot Chocolate Mug Craft: Decorate paper cups with markers, stickers, and cotton ball marshmallows to create cute hot chocolate mugs.

9. Penguin Handprint Craft: Dip children’s hands in black paint and press them onto paper to create penguin bodies. Add eyes and feet with markers.

10. Snowman Jar Craft: Paint empty jars white and create snowman faces on the front with googly eyes, buttons, and a carrot-shaped nose.

11. Paper Plate Snow Globes: Decorate paper plates with winter scenes and glue a plastic cup filled with glitter inside to make a snow globe.

12. Snowy Owl Cupcakes: Decorate cupcakes with white icing and use Oreo cookies for the owl’s eyes. Add candy corn for a beak.

13. Snowflake Ornaments: Cut out snowflake shapes from white cardstock and decorate them with glitter, gems, and ribbon to hang on the tree.

14. Ice Rink Sensory Bin: Fill a bin with fake snow, plastic ice skates, and small toy animals for the students to create their own winter scenes.

15. Snowman Sock Puppets: Decorate white socks with felt and buttons to create adorable snowman puppets.

16. Winter Bird Feeders: Spread peanut butter on pinecones and roll them in birdseed. Hang them outside and watch the birds flock to them.

17. Paper Plate Snowmen: Paint paper plates white and let the children decorate them with construction paper hats, scarves, and buttons.

18. Arctic Animal Masks: Cut out animal shapes from white paper and let the students decorate them as polar bears, penguins, or other arctic animals.

19. Snowy Sensory Bottles: Fill plastic bottles with water, glitter, and snowflake confetti for the students to shake and watch the snowfall.

20. Melting Snowman Science Experiment: Build snowmen out of ice cubes and watch them melt with salt, warm water, or other substances.

These winter crafts are sure to bring joy and creativity to your classroom this season!

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
