Spread the love

Jamaica is a well-known Caribbean island country.

It is a dynamic and lively country rich in culture, history, and customs, but one of its greatest riches is its wonderful beaches.

Jamaica’s beaches are among the most beautiful in the world, with brilliant azure sea, silky soft sand, and breathtaking oceanfront vistas.

I’ve selected some of the top beaches in Jamaica so you can determine which one is perfect for you and your friends, family, or significant other.

  1. Pellew Island Beach — Port Antonio, Portland

Pellew Island Beach, also known as Monkey Island Beach, is a small stretch of beachfront on a tiny islet.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Pellew Island Beach lets you experience what it’s like to have a small beach all to yourself.

This little shoreline is beautiful and boasts the most amazing natural vistas.

It has blue water, a smooth powdery coastline, with lush foliage in the background.

You can sunbathe on the beach and listen to the sounds of nature, or you can participate in leisure activities such as kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, rafting, or boating.

Expert Tip

When visiting Pellew Island Beach, you should wear aqua shoes to protect your feet because the seas are home to sea urchins.

  1. Mammee Bay Beach — Ocho Rios, St. Ann

Mammee Bay Beach is well-known for its expansive shoreline, clear azure ocean, and recreational opportunities.

Why We Recommend This Beach

One of the best things to do in Jamaica with your friends and love is to go to Mammee Bay Beach for some much-needed stress-free vacation.

During day time, you can sprawl on the soft sand and work on your tan while basking in the sun.

You can also have a good time for a leisurely swim, wakeboarding, windsurfing, exploring the sea in a glass-bottom boat, and other activities.

The party will commence at night.

You and your friends can dance to reggae music, drink tropical alcoholic concoctions, and gaze at the stars while sitting by the warmth of a beachside bonfire.

Expert Tip

The Bamboo Blu Restaurant is a terrific place to eat.

Delicious delicacies such as grilled lobsters, succulent steaks, and tasty chicken wings are available here.

If you are on a diet, this restaurant also offers vegetarian selections.

  1. AquaSol Beach — Montego Bay, St. James

AquaSol Beach is one of Jamaica’s nicest beaches.

It has a coastal shoreline as well as a waterpark.

Why We Recommend This Beach

I highly recommend that you take your next family vacation to AquaSol Beach.

Jumping on water trampolines, jet-skiing, kayaking, banana boating, snorkeling, scuba diving, and other fun sports are available for people of all ages.

It is Jamaica’s best swimming beach and the safest beach for children.

Jetties protect the shores of AquaSol Beach from high waves and currents, and the water is quiet and clear, allowing even your youngest guests to enjoy themselves fully.

There are also vigilant lifeguards on duty.

Expert Tip

Aside from the sand and sea, visit the AquaSol Beach waterpark.

The waterpark is magnificent, with numerous slides and water-based rides for you and your loved ones.

  1. Seven Mile Beach — Negril, Hanover

Negril Beach is another name for Seven Mile Beach.

It is one of Jamaica’s most popular beaches, with sugary white sand, crystal clear blue water, and boundless vistas of the Caribbean Sea.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Take your family and friends to Seven Mile Beach, one of the best beaches in the Caribbean.

This magnificent coastline is ideal for relaxing, working on your tan while lying on a beach chair, strolling along the shoreline, or taking a tranquil dip.

You might also choose to go on an adventure out at sea by participating in various activities.

Snorkeling, Hobie cat sailing, jet skiing, cruising the water in glass-bottom boats, riding catamarans, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, parasailing, and a variety of other enjoyable activities are available.

Expert Tip

Don’t be concerned about taking the extra time to prepare meals, snacks, and beverages for your traveling friends.

There are numerous beachside restaurants and pubs along Seven Mile Beach, providing you with plenty of options for satisfying your hunger.

  1. Bloody Bay Beach — Negril, Hanover

Bloody Bay Beach is regarded as one of the best on the island.

It neighbors many world-class resorts and hotels, making it an ideal tourist destination.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Visit the wonderful Bloody Bay Beach with your friends, family, or partner for an amazing beach trip.

You can make new memories with your companions at this gorgeous beach by participating in various fun activities.

You can, for example, discover the wonders of marine life by snorkeling or scuba diving, or you can cruise the seas by kayaking, jet-skiing, or sailing a Hobie cat, glass-bottom boat, or catamaran.

For relaxing time on the beach, you can tan on a sun lounger, assist your children in building sandcastles, photograph the gorgeous scenery, and so on.

Expert Tip

Bloody Bay Beach has various rental options if you don’t want to bring your heavy water sports equipment.

You can also rent Jet skis and snorkeling equipment.

  1. Treasure Beach — St. Elizabeth

Treasure Beach, located on Jamaica’s southern coast, is a natural beauty with a rustic charm.

It is a popular destination for beachgoers seeking an authentic Jamaican experience.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Treasure Beach is a 6-mile-long strip of stunning shoreline.

One side has a stony shoreline, while the other has fine sand.

Spend time with your trip companions doing enjoyable things like snorkeling, bodysurfing, kayaking, boating, and much more.

There are numerous local stores in the neighborhood selling various things such as souvenirs and handicrafts and local agencies giving fun boat rides.

Expert Tip

One of the best features of Treasure Beach is its oceanfront restaurants serving the freshest seafood.

So, before you go, stop at a neighborhood restaurant.

  1. Hellshire Beach — Portmore, St. Catherine

Hellshire Beach has a lovely coastline with powdery sand and turquoise water.

It is a local favorite with several facilities that provide beachgoers with a more comfortable experience.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Choose Hellshire Beach for your next holiday if you want a fun and exciting time with your friends or family.

Spend time together enjoying activities like surfing, dancing to music, socializing with locals, and swimming in the cool water.

It has several onsite restaurants and bars that serve economical and delectable local cuisine and tropical drinks.

Other amenities include beach chairs for relaxation and tables for eating comfortably.

Expert Tip

Locals frequently congregate on Hellshire Beach.

The off-season is suitable for a peaceful time.

  1. Burwood Beach — Falmouth, Trelawny

Burwood Beach is a family-friendly beach with sugary white sand, clear turquoise water, and plenty of amenities and facilities.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Do you want to enjoy a travel beach adventure with kids?

If so, Burwood Beach is a good option.

Burwood Beach is ideal for children because it has attentive lifeguards and a small playground to keep them occupied.

The water here is also calm and crystal clear, making it ideal for splashing about with your children.

Play fun beach activities, throw a ball or frisbee, and build sand sculptures and castles with your children.

Expert Tip

Burwood Beach has gazebos that you can utilize.

However, a limited quantity is available, so come earlier in the day if you want to take advantage of it.

  1. Boston Beach — Port Antonio, Portland

Boston Beach is a modest but picturesque stretch of beach. It is Jamaica’s premier surfing destination.

Why We Recommend This Beach

If you wish to enjoy water sports, such as surfing, while on vacation, I highly recommend Boston Beach.

Numerous enjoyable activities are available here, like boogie boarding, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, snorkeling, and much more.

This beach features a swing strung from a tree where you may sit and enjoy the scenery.

It also has plenty of parking and showers where you can clean yourself after a day on the sand or in the sea.

Expert Tip

A local agency on Boston Beach offers surfboard rentals, in case you don’t feel like packing your own, and surfing lessons if you don’t know how to surf and want to learn how.

  1. Puerto Seco Beach — Discovery Bay, St. Ann

Puerto Seco Beach is one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful coasts.

It has breathtaking views of the environment, a brilliant azure sea, and a gentle, well-kept beach.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Puerto Seco Beach is the greatest option if you’re seeking a pleasant beach to visit with friends, your significant other, or your family.

Here, you may have a carefree, enjoyable holiday while spending the day in the sun, on the smooth beach, and in the clear water.

One of Puerto Seco Beach’s highlights is a floating, family-friendly water park with slides, trampolines, and a rock-climbing wall.

Paddleboarding, sailing on glass-bottom boats, snorkeling, and many other activities are available here.

Expert Tip

Dolphin Cove is immediately adjacent to Puerto Seco Beach.

Swim in a spotless pool at Dolphin Cove if you don’t feel like getting in the water with the fish.

  1. Bamboo Beach — Ocho Rios, St. Ann

Beachgoers can fully enjoy Bamboo Beach for a modest cost.

This lovely coastline offers clear water, a sandy beach, and mountains covered with rich vegetation.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Are you seeking the ideal shoreline where you can spend quality time with your significant other or friends?

Come on over to Bamboo Beach after that.

A bustling atmosphere and a tonne of entertaining activities make Bamboo Beach the ideal place to unwind.

By relaxing on a sun lounger and swimming in the calm water in the morning, you may get a head start on tanning.

Also, you get to check out the restaurant where you may eat delectable freshly prepared meals.

Expert Tip

If you go to Bamboo Beach on a Friday night, you can enjoy drinking fine alcoholic beverages including beer and tropical cocktails, while dancing on the beach to a live DJ performance.

  1. Frenchman’s Cove Beach — Port Antonio, Portland

The picture-perfect Frenchman’s Cove Beach attracts beachgoers from all spheres of life.

Many films, like Lord of the Flies and Knight and Day, have highlighted the shorelines of this magnificent coastline because it is so breathtaking.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Boat rentals are available at Frenchman’s Cove Beach, so you may embark on a guided scuba diving tour or explore the coastline on your own.

  1. Fort Clarence Beach — Kingston, St. Andrew

A gorgeous stretch of sand, crystal-clear water, and several trees offering shade define Fort Clarence Beach.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Together with your friends, take a much-needed vacation to Fort Clarence Beach.

You may unwind here by taking a leisurely dip in the cool, lifeguard-protected waters, eating a picnic on the beach, and building enormous sandcastles.

An on-site bar and grill offer made-to-order food and traditional Jamaican fare at Fort Clarence Beach.

Expert Tip

At Fort Clarence Beach, you can hire sun loungers for a reasonable price if you don’t want to sprawl out on the sand.

  1. James Bond Beach — Oracabessa, St. Mary

The renowned James Bond Beach also goes by Roaring River Beach and Laughing Waters Beach.

Why We Recommend This Beach

I firmly advise spending a beach day at James Bond Beach while in Jamaica.

It doesn’t matter if you’re traveling alone, with family, or with friends; this coastline has many choices.

James Bond Beach is a beautiful stretch of beachfront where you may engage in a variety of activities.

You can engage in thrilling activities like windsurfing, jet-skiing, competitive beach volleyball, etc.

But if you prefer slower pursuits, you may go kayaking, cruise the sea in a glass-bottom boat, swim the area’s colorful reefs, and do a tonne more.

Expert Tip

James Bond Beach allows you to bring your watercraft there.

But along this coastline, you can rent gear like kayaks and paddleboards if you don’t want to lug the extra weight while traveling.

  1. Lime Cay Beach — Kingston, St. Andrew

A little islet’s shore is where Lime Cay Beach is located.

It features gorgeous views of the Caribbean Sea, silky white sand, and turquoise water.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Locals like Lime Cay Beach for its clean surroundings and natural splendor.

Its sandy beach is ideal for relaxing while taking in the breathtaking view, getting a tan, and building sandcastles with your kids.

Swimming in the beautiful water, taking a gorgeous boat trip, and snorkeling to a neighboring coral are just a few of the entertaining things you may do with friends or family.

Expert Tip

At Lime Cay Beach, there are no stores or dining establishments.

Pack essentials such as sunscreen, towels, food, and beverages.

  1. Dunn’s River Falls Beach — Ocho Rios, St. Ann

Dunn’s River Falls and Park has a unique stretch of beach known as Dunn’s River Falls Beach.

Why We Recommend This Beach

Bring your loved ones and friends to Dunn’s River Falls Beach to experience something novel and distinct.

You may discover dazzling, clear water to swim in and a sandy beachfront at this beach, located at the base of the waterfalls.

There are many entertaining things you may do along this lifeguard-protected coastline.

Like kayaking, sailing catamarans, snorkeling, scuba diving, and so much more.

Expert Tip

Spend some time exploring Dunn’s River Falls and Park’s other attractions.

Other enjoyable activities include climbing treacherous cliffs, riding a bamboo raft down a river, and more.

  1. Doctor’s Cave Beach — Montego Bay, St. James

One of the top beaches in Jamaica is Doctor’s Cave Beach.

Its coasts are lined with golden sand and have turquoise water that is calm and clear.

Why We Recommend This Beach

A sight to behold is Doctor’s Cave Beach.

It is lovely and ideal for people of all ages, offering endless entertainment opportunities.

You may participate in many other sports, like parasailing, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, sailing, and many more.

You can have a good time with your kids at the well-kept shore by burying them in the sand, playing a game of beach volleyball, and having fun chasing them about.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
