Melbourne is home to numerous parks that cater to families looking to enjoy the great outdoors. One of the most popular parks is the Wickham Park, which boasts over 390 acres of lush greenery, playgrounds, picnic areas, and walking trails. Families can spend the day exploring the park’s nature trails, playing frisbee, or having a picnic.

Beaches: Fun in the Sun

No trip to Melbourne is complete without spending a day at the beach. The city’s coastline stretches for miles, providing plenty of opportunities for families to soak up the sun and play in the sand. Melbourne Beach is a family-friendly spot with gentle waves, perfect for children to splash around. Families can build sandcastles, go shell hunting, or enjoy a beachside picnic.

For a more active beach day, head to the nearby Sebastian Inlet State Park, where families can enjoy fishing, kayaking, and wildlife viewing. The park is also great for spotting dolphins and manatees in the water.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
