1. Handprint Animals: Let your kindergarteners explore their creativity by making handprint animals. They can dip their hands in paint and create different animals by adding details like eyes and ears.

2. Collage Creations: Provide your kindergarteners with a variety of materials like colored paper, ribbons, and buttons. Let them use their imagination to create unique collages that showcase their creativity.

3. Nature Prints: Take your kindergarteners on a nature walk and collect various leaves, flowers, and twigs. Use paint or ink to create prints of these natural objects on paper, allowing your students to explore different patterns and textures.

4. Popsicle Stick Puppets: Encourage your kindergarteners to put on a show by creating popsicle stick puppets. Provide them with popsicle sticks, glue, and art supplies to design their own characters and props.

5. Sponge Painting: Cut out different shapes from sponges and let your kindergarteners dip them in paint. They can then press the sponges onto paper to create colorful and textured paintings.

6. Paper Plate Masks: Give your kindergarteners paper plates, paints, and craft materials to create their own masks. They can design animal masks, superhero masks, or any other imaginative characters they can think of.

7. Bubble Wrap Prints: Wrap bubble wrap around a rolling pin or cut it into different shapes. Let your kindergarteners dip the bubble wrap into paint and press it onto paper to create interesting prints.

8. Clay Creations: Provide your kindergarteners with clay or play dough and let them sculpt various shapes and objects. Encourage them to think creatively and express their ideas through their clay creations.

9. Rainbow Fish Art: After reading the book “The Rainbow Fish,” have your kindergarteners create their own rainbow fish using glitter, sequins, and shiny art supplies. This activity will spark their imagination and teach them about sharing and uniqueness.

10. Tissue Paper Collage: Give your kindergarteners tissue paper in different colors and have them tear it into small pieces. They can then glue the tissue paper onto paper to create vibrant and textured collages.

11. Nature Mandalas: Take your kindergarteners outside to collect natural materials like leaves, flowers, and pebbles. They can arrange these materials in intricate patterns and designs on the ground to create beautiful nature mandalas.

These art projects will not only engage your kindergarteners’ creativity but also help them develop their fine motor skills, explore different art techniques, and express their ideas through visual storytelling. Enjoy the creative journey with your young artists!

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
