  1. The Westin Stonebriar Hotel & Golf Club, Frisco

The Westin Stonebriar Hotel & Golf Club is an excellent place for an enthusiastic family about golf.

This destination can convert even a non-golf player into an enthusiast.

The 18-hole golf course has a pro shop and professional instruction if you want to take lessons.

Apart from golfing, the main attraction of this resort, there is also a beautiful lagoon-style swimming pool with waterfalls!

You can enjoy in-room spa services, delicious meals at the many restaurants the property offers, and several other amenities with your family vacation package.

If you are a large family, you can choose between the executive king rooms and the presidential suite, in case you feel slightly more indulgent.

  1. The Resort at Schlitterbahn, New Braunfels

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels may be a complicated name, but I assure you there is nothing complicated about the resort once you get there. Your stay here will only be about making life easier for you!

The resort has a waterpark suitable for you if your family loves water.

This vacation resort in Texas has two separate water parks with a lazy river, a tubing river, water coasters, surfing rides, etc.

Admission to the water park is included in your stay, so you do not need to incur extra costs.

For a relaxing and luxurious time for your family, I recommend the lovely “Treehaus” suites.

But if this is over your budget, there are plenty of other options for you.

  1. Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, Grapevine

The Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center is a massive property and one of Texas’s largest resorts.

The resort doubles up as a family vacation spot and an excellent place for those traveling for business.

In other words, this is a great place to combine your work trip and family vacation (but try to categorize it so you can maximize the fun!).

The resort offers stunning views of Lake Grapevine and has several activities for people of all ages.

There is a large water park, which will undoubtedly be the first place your kids will want to indulge.

There is also a heated indoor pool, an outdoor swimming pool, and a relaxing spa session you can enjoy with your partner for some unwinding.

There are plenty of options available for the rooms as you can combine two or more spaces to make your suit.

All the rooms come with standard features like mini-fridges, seating areas, furnished balconies, etc.

  1. Isla Grand Beach Resort, South Padre Island

The Isla Grand Beach Resort overlooks the beautiful beach on South Padre Island.

Surrounded by 10 acres of greenery and vegetation, the resort will genuinely open you up to nature at its peak.

Some of this beach resort’s highlights are lounging on the beach, Kayaking, paddle boarding, and other water sports, or relaxing in the heated outdoor swimming pools.

There are also volleyball courts, a fitness center, tennis courts, restaurants, and a lot else for you to spend a great vacation doing.

The resort also organizes some great activities and programs for kids.

There are also several choices regarding the rooms, but the Beachfront Cabanas would be my recommendation for a family of four.

  1. Lajitas Golf Resort, Lajitas

The excellent location of the Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa is undoubtedly one of its selling points.

Located in the Big Bend area of Texas, this resort takes the cake for picturesque views and a lifetime of memories.

Situated on a 27,000-acre setting and has several adventure activities to offer.

Some activities you can enjoy as a family include golfing, zip lining, clay pigeon shooting, etc.

Apart from this, there are restaurants for fine dining, fitness centers, and an outdoor theater for catching a fun picture under the stars.

You can pick from several rooms, including the Boardwalk Condos, which would be my solid recommendation.

In case you would like to travel with your beloved pet, there are some pet-friendly units available,

  1. Lakeway Resort and Spa, Lakeway

Lakeway Resort and Spa is perhaps one of Texas’s family-friendly holiday destinations.

For younger children, the fun kids’ zone will keep them occupied for a long time.

There are exciting activities like sailing, boating, and Kayaking for a slightly older audience, including adults.

There are also three heated outdoor swimming pools (one boasts of a kids’ slide), hot tubs, a spa, and a Southern-style restaurant for authentic delicacies.

The suites may be convenient for you. If you are traveling with family and especially with small children,

The suits have a full kitchen, living and dining area, fireplace, HDTVs, balcony or patio seating, etc.

  1. La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa, Montgomery

La Toretta Lake Resort & Spa in Montgomery is the ideal vacation spot for a family that appreciates quiet time by the lake.

The resort has plenty of activities that children enjoy, including the miniature golf course, swimming pools, and an arcade.

There is also easy access to a beach where the whole family can enjoy a day of Kayaking and jet skiing (though check the age limit for children for water sports).

The rooms are spacious and have stunning views of the lake.

You can also enjoy body treatments and massages at the Spa Terre.

The Final Word

The resorts mentioned in the list above are some of the best in the state.

Vacation with family is hectic if everything is not in order, which can be nerve-wracking.

Spending money and taking your kids on vacation for them to not enjoy and throw tantrums is every parent’s worst nightmare.

With the resorts mentioned above, there is little room for error as these destinations run like a well-oiled machine, and their only priority is ensuring you have a great time.

So please take my word for it and get the bookings started for your next getaway!

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
