Introduction:

Whether you have just switched to Verizon, or have been a loyal customer for years, updating your phone’s tower connections is crucial for maintaining the best possible cell reception. Verizon regularly updates their cell towers to offer the latest technology and effectively service their expanding network. In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of updating the towers on your Verizon phone to ensure you’re enjoying the best possible service.

Step 1: Enable Airplane Mode

Before initiating the tower update, it’s useful to disconnect your phone from its current connection with the tower. This prepares your device for a fresh start. To do this:

1. Open your phone’s settings.

2. Look for “Airplane Mode” or tap on “Network & Internet.”

3. Toggle on “Airplane Mode” and wait for a moment.

Step 2: Initiate a Tower Update

Updating your towers varies slightly depending on whether you are using an Android or an iPhone. Follow the appropriate steps below for your device:

For Android phones:

1. Open the dialer app.

2. Enter “*228” followed by the call button.

3. When prompted, press “2” to update your roaming capabilities.

4. Wait as your phone restarts and connects to new towers.

For iPhones:

1. Open the “Settings” app.

2. Tap on “General.”

3. Search for and tap on “Reset.”

4. Select “Reset Network Settings” – this will not erase any personal data but may require you to reconnect to Wi-Fi networks afterward.

5. Your iPhone will restart itself, updating its network connections in the process.

Note: For some older devices or those using specific carrier-locked software versions, you may need to connect your device to a computer with iTunes installed and perform a software update.

Step 3: Turn Off Airplane Mode

Once you’ve completed the tower update process:

1. Go back to your phone’s settings.

2. Tap on “Airplane Mode” or “Network & Internet” again.

3. Toggle off the “Airplane Mode.”

Now your phone will reconnect to the Verizon network with the latest tower information.

Conclusion:

Updating your Verizon towers is an easy process that ensures you’re always connected to the best possible cell reception. By following these steps, you’re taking an important step in maintaining excellent call quality, fast internet access, and reliable text messaging. Don’t forget to regularly check for updates, as technology and network infrastructure are always improving.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
