CD Projekt RED Gears Up for Major RPG Releases

In a bold move indicative of its commitment to expanding its flagship franchises, CD Projekt RED (CDPR) is intensifying development efforts for The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2. As of March 2026, the company is nearing a significant milestone of employing 500 developers dedicated to these high-profile projects, signaling a strong momentum and excitement among fans of both series.

Strong Development Momentum Post-Cyberpunk 2077

The announcement comes in the wake of CDPR’s efforts to rebound from the mixed reception of Cyberpunk 2077, which faced numerous challenges upon its release in late 2020. The company has been actively working to improve its reputation and deliver quality content that meets the high expectations of its player base. The recent expansion of developer teams reflects a renewed focus on quality and creativity, essential elements that fans have come to expect from CD Projekt RED.

Ambitious Plans for The Witcher 4

The Witcher franchise has long been a cornerstone of the gaming industry, with its intricate storytelling and immersive worlds. Following the success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which won numerous Game of the Year awards and sold over 30 million copies worldwide, anticipation for a sequel has been building steadily. CDPR’s decision to invest heavily in The Witcher 4 suggests that the company aims to not only meet but exceed the expectations set by its predecessor.

Cyberpunk 2: A New Era in Night City

Similarly, the Cyberpunk franchise has a dedicated fanbase that is eager for a sequel. Following the lessons learned from Cyberpunk 2077, CDPR is likely focusing on a more polished and expansive experience for players. The expansion of the development team for Cyberpunk 2 indicates that the studio is committed to creating a rich, engaging environment where players can explore the depths of Night City with improved mechanics and storytelling.

CD Projekt RED’s Commitment to Quality and Innovation

The expansion of CDPR’s development teams highlights a strategic shift towards a more robust development pipeline. With nearly 500 developers now working on these two major titles, the company is poised to leverage its resources effectively to produce games that resonate with both critics and players alike. This commitment to quality is crucial in restoring faith among gamers, especially after the turbulence surrounding Cyberpunk 2077’s launch.

Industry Reactions and Fan Expectations

Industry analysts and fans alike have reacted positively to CDPR’s commitment to expanding its teams. The move is seen as a strong indicator of the company’s resolve to deliver high-quality games that live up to the legacy of their predecessors. As the gaming community eagerly anticipates news and developments surrounding The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2, the excitement continues to build. The potential for innovation and storytelling in these sequels is immense, and fans are hopeful that CDPR will remain true to its roots while pushing the boundaries of game design.

The Future of CD Projekt RED

As CD Projekt RED approaches this significant milestone in its workforce, the future looks promising for the company and its portfolio of franchises. The expansion of development teams not only signals a dedication to The Witcher and Cyberpunk but also reflects a broader ambition to grow as a leading force in the gaming industry.

Looking Ahead

With an eye on the horizon, CD Projekt RED appears committed to learning from past experiences while fostering a culture of creativity and innovation. As the company continues to hire top talent and invest in its development teams, fans can expect exciting updates and announcements in the coming months. The gaming community is on the edge of its seat, eagerly awaiting what CDPR will bring to the table with The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2.

Final Thoughts

The announcement of the expanding teams at CD Projekt RED reflects a pivotal moment for the company as it strives to regain the trust of its community and deliver exceptional gaming experiences. With nearly 500 developers now dedicated to these ambitious projects, the stage is set for the next chapter in the Witcher and Cyberpunk sagas. As always, gamers will be watching closely, hopeful for the magic that CD Projekt RED has consistently brought to the table.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
