Our preferred city in New England to begin family vacations is Boston.

The city is surrounded by various fascinating treasures, from gorgeous sandy beaches to historical riches.

The best thing is that a few-minute drive will take you to some of the best family-friendly resorts in the country.

We have compiled a list of the best family resorts near Boston, MA., to assist you in planning the ideal getaway.

  1. Wequassett Resort and Golf Club

Who should stay here?

Do you believe that the resort is only for golf connoisseurs?

Guess what?

Wequassett can provide your kids the trip of a lifetime with its vibrant accommodations and kid-friendly amenities.

Families with slightly moody teenagers will find it to be a delightful haven.

Everyone will enjoy themselves at this resort, from young children to adults.

The outdoor pools, tennis courts, hot tubs, and playground are some of our favorite facilities here.

Distance from Boston

Driving along MA-3 S and US-6 E from Boston will take an hour and 22 minutes to reach the resort.

The trip has a total mileage of 85.0 miles.

  1. Green Harbor Resort

Who should stay here?

Want to travel with your tweens or adolescents somewhere peaceful and rejuvenating?

If looking for a top family resort, look at Green Harbor.

It’s the ideal holiday destination for kids who need some tranquility and quiet, thanks to its calming atmosphere and timber architecture.

Teenage adventurers will also have a blast at this resort.

The resort provides a wide range of exciting outdoor adventures, including whale watching tours and activities like paddle boarding and boating.

The resort also offers kids’ summer programs and craft activities.

Distance from Boston

Driving MA-3 S is the quickest route from Boston to the resort.

The drive takes roughly 1 hour and 12 minutes and is 74.7 miles long.

  1. Nantasket Beach Resort

Who should stay here?

The resort is probably best known for its magnificent scenery and elegant style.

But it’s also great for families and appropriate for newborns and children.

Because of this, Nantasket is our preferred family-friendly vacation destination near Boston, Massachusetts.

Kids will love the luxurious pool with retractable glass roofing and the 1-mile Atlantic Ocean shoreline.

The famous Paragon Carousel and Museum is also close to the resort.

After making the trek to the World’s End, teens and adults will enjoy the views of Boston.

From Boston, the resort is a short and easy drive away.

The resort will be reachable in 30 minutes if you take I-93 S.

The total distance of the trip is 20.6 miles.

  1. Cape Codder Family Resort and Inflatable Park

Cape Codder Resort is an exciting family vacation spot that appeals to all age groups.

The resort has everything you need for an unforgettable family holiday, including an outstanding water park and on-site food options.

Even better, the resort offers roomy, comfortable accommodations for large families.

Did I mention that it has a fast Wi-Fi connection and arcade games?

Cape Cod Family is one of our favorite resorts within two hours of Boston.

A 75.5-mile drive takes 1 hour and 14 minutes from Boston to the resort.

  1. Vacation Village in the Berkshires

Who should stay here?

The best resort for visitors aged six and up is Vacation Village.

This resort, situated in Hancock’s beautiful countryside and hills, provides various stimulating recreational activities for energetic children.

Nearby historical landmarks, fun activities, and delectable dining options are all accessible to visitors in just a few minutes.

Additionally, you’ll love exploring the biking, skiing, swimming, and fishing spots at the Vacation Village.

There are numerous ways to get to the resort from Boston.

Since using I-90 W would get you to the Village the quickest, we recommend doing that.

It will take 2 hours and 27 minutes to travel the 156.3 miles.

  1. The Charles Hotel in Harvard Square

In many ways, Boston’s family resorts are a fantastic alternative to The Charles Hotel.

First, it has a great central location that gives you instant access to the top attractions in Cambridge and Boston.

Additionally, it includes accommodations that are suitable for the entire family.

We advise booking their Deluxe Double Room for large families, which sleeps up to 6 adults.

Even if it’s an excellent option for kids, those above 16 will enjoy the hotel better.

It is, after all, surrounded by the hippest and most popular places in the neighborhood.

It takes about 12 minutes (5.1 miles) to get to this family-friendly hotel from Boston using Soldiers Field Road and Storrow Drive.

  1. The Villages at Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club

Who should stay here?

The Villages is a beautiful family vacation spot with fully equipped kitchens, villas with multiple rooms, and washers in every unit.

Additionally, even with a few neighboring attractions, the resort has enough activities to keep everyone busy for days.

It has a 2,600-square-foot freshwater pond where you and the tribe can go kayaking and paddle boarding; it is one of our favorite places to visit.

Tennis, basketball and a volleyball pit are available for active children and teens

at the resort.

This resort has something for everyone, from young to old.

Distance from Boston

Anyone seeking a family-friendly resort within 3 hours of Boston should strongly consider The Villages.

Driving MA-3 S and US-6 E from Boston can take you there in the shortest time.

The 86.8-mile journey takes one hour and 30 minutes.

  1. Chatham Bars Inn

This beautiful resort is perfect for people of all ages and is in a quiet fishing village.

Four on-site restaurants, a spa, an outdoor pool, and a golf course are amenities available here.

Additionally, the resort offers some excellent, charming features, such as relaxing beach fires and mesmerizing ocean sunrises.

The younger ones also entertain through games, crafts, and off-site outings.

For a quicker journey, drive MA-3 S and US-6 E from Boston.

It will take about 1 hour and 33 minutes to complete the 89.7-mile drive.

  1. Red Jacket Mountain View Resort

The resort offers many activities for your tribe despite its isolated and secluded location.

The Kahuna Laguna, a vast indoor water park with slides, a gigantic tipping bucket, and a wave pool, is, without a doubt, the kiddies’ favorite location.

Do not forget to use the outdoor pool and arcade while you are there.

Take a scenic ride on the nearby Conway Railroad for an unforgettable journey.

The distance from Boston to the resort is 141.3 miles, and it takes 2 hours and 32 minutes to get there using I-95 N and NH-16 N.

About Us

The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas. We call for a relatively radical and certainly quite comprehensive reorganization of America’s P-20 system.

That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning.  The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation.
