How to Put an Internship on Your Resume

To add an internship to your resume, determine what internship you want to include. If you are applying for an entry-level position, you will most likely want to include an internship in your resume under the “job experience.” If you are applying for a position at a higher level, you may want to consider including an internship in your resume under the section entitled “leadership experience.”
Once you have determined the type of internship you want to include, you must find an organization that offers that type. Once you have located an organization, you will need to learn more about it, such as its website, what type of internship they offer, and how to apply.
Once you have gathered all the necessary information, you must create a resume for the internship. To include the internship in your resume, you will need to create a “Summary of Qualifications” section that includes the following:
-Name and contact information for the organization
-The date you completed the internship
-The type of internship you completed (e.g., clinical, research, teaching)
-Your responsibilities
-What you learned from the internship
-What you achieved during the internship
Once you have completed the “Summary of Qualifications” section, you must include the information in the appropriate section of your resume. For example, if you completed a clinical internship, you would include the information in your resume’s “Summary of Qualifications” section
