California State University Long Beach is a state institution and the third largest institution in the 23-school California State University system. Drake University’s BS in health science is a four-year degree program that offers alternatives for learners. There are several 3+2 and 3+3 programs that combine the bachelor’s degree program with professional graduate degrees, including a unique dual degree program offered in cooperation with the Drake Law School. This is an extremely adaptable degree program that gives learners lots of choices; all Drake learners finish an internship as a mandatory part of their degree.
With several campuses across the state, the University of South Florida is a sizeable, public research institution. Though the school has a sizeable, diverse learner body, USF is committed to sustaining smaller classes and an emphasis on community engagement. USF is also home to USF Health, which contains the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, and Pharmacy.
The University of South Florida has a bachelor of science in health science, which offers a valuable combination of hard science, social science, and humanities. Classes in the degree program are offered from five distinct colleges and more than 20 departments so that learners can select to focus their degree based on the health career they plan to work on after graduation. UMKC’s School of Health Professions has a bachelor of health science targeted for learners who wish to enter a non-clinical health career (though the pre-professional path qualifies learners to enter either graduate or professional health science programs). UMKC’s bachelor of health science degree is a 120-credit degree program with 24 credits of core health science classwork and 18 credits in the learner’s chosen emphasis area. Though UMKC’s degree program is non-clinical, a required internship gives learners professional, real-life experience.
Situated in New Jersey’s Pinelands National Reserve, Stockton University is a state institution. With a strong emphasis on undergraduate learning, Stockton’s School of Health Sciences offers state-of-the-art preparation for careers in healthcare. Stockton University’s School of Health Sciences has a bachelor of science in health science, which puts learners on a healthcare career path.
